In 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi as well as Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it topped the charts for most streamed songs during the course of 6 months. Drake and Bad Bunny collaborated for the track MIA MIA (2018), while Madonna joined forces with Maluma to record Medellin in the year 2019. The mainstreaming of reggaeton was an issue for certain performers in the year 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, were keen to keep the look. It often blended elements from electronic dance music, as well as different forms.
